Description:

The incumbent supports the Health Systems Epidemiology Program and is responsible for high-level analyses, goals and objectives in conjunction with the Program Manager. This position assists with data acquisition, management, and analysis of the Hospitalization Inpatient Discharge Data (HIDD), Emergency Department Data (ED), Syndromic Surveillance, and Medicaid data to ensure data quality and consistency. Incumbent will 1) Maintain staff contacts and data connections with New Mexico hospitals and emergency departments; 2) Ensure data quality and consistency using statistical software packages such as Stata or SAS; 3) Perform analyses to track the impact of the health care system on health status in New Mexico; 4) Work closely with NM Human Services Department to obtain and analyze Medicaid data; 5) Fulfill data analysis requests from various DOH programs for HIDD, ED, Syndromic, and Medicaid data.
