Nearly 500 co-authors. More than five years of work. And the largest epidemiological analysis of levels and trends in health ever conducted. The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors 2010 Study (GBD 2010) is a monumental testament to the power of medical research, one led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington.
The next step? Building upon this significant work. The results and methods developed in this study also present a multitude of opportunities for collaborative research.
Please join UW Medicine CEO Paul G. Ramsey, as well as UW President Michael K. Young, UW Provost Ana Mari Cauce, and UW School of Public Health Dean Howard Frumkin, as Christopher Murray, the director of IHME, reviews some of the study's major findings and opportunities for future collaboration. The lecture will be followed by a reception.
