ERM is seeking a motivated Consulting Associate, Environmental Compliance, who is interested in participating in a range of environmental and sustainability projects, to join our consulting firm in Hartford, CT area. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide environmental technical assistance on compliance, sustainability, and due diligence transaction projects.
- Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, NPDES, and wastewater programs.
- Engage in chemical inventory and release reporting for EPCRA and other compliance reporting requirements.
- Research and document legal environment regulations at the local, state and federal levels.
- Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support the development of environmental compliance and management system programs.
- Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
- Conduct inspections to verify environmental compliance at customer sites.
- Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Skills/Eligibility:
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related discipline. Master’s a plus.
- Recent graduate to 1 years (3 years preferred) of relevant experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
- EIT, ASP, CHMM certifications or similar are desirable.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Local candidates preferred.
