Schedule a 1:1 Career Appointment
The SPH Career Team is here to serve all students in the School of Public Health and offers 30 minute online or in-person 1-on-1 career advising sessions by appointment. Sessions are offered between 1:00-3:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the G-120 suite of the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health. If those time blocks do not work for you, please reach out to dwade@uw.edu to schedule an appointment. Click here to schedule an appointment with Daren.
We encourage you to make an appointment to discuss career, graduate school, or job search questions directly with your department advisor, staff, or faculty mentors; contact them for help. In addition, the University of Washington Career and Internship Center at Mary Gates Hall Room 134 also offers appointments, additional career content, free headshots, and more.
SPH Career Series, SPH Career Month and Virtual Career Fair
We also offer collaborative events organized with SPH Career Group colleagues and other campus and non-campus partners. These events occur throughout the year and help you develop important job search skills, strategies, identify your career goals and explore opportunities for jobs in the field or graduate school. Notable examples include:
- Fall Resume Clinic
- Mock Interviews with faculty, staff, or community volunteers in Winter/Spring
- SPH Career Month in April including a Virtual Public Health Career Fair
Information about current career events can be found on the “Trumba” calendar, through email, the UW Insider and posted regularly to the SAS (Student & Academic Services) Canvas site.
SPH Mentorship Program
Each year we offer undergraduates the opportunity to be matched with current graduate students to learn from their experiences and develop connections with students who are further along in their career path. Recruitment for mentors and mentees and matching takes place in the fall quarter and students meet in-person or virtual throughout the winter and spring quarters.
