The University of Washington School of Public Health (SPH) policy and guidance documents inform our community about relevant laws, University policies, resources, best practices, SPH processes and more to support various functions that further our mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.  These policies and documents apply and are available to our entire school community and its departments.

SPH Guidance for Media Interviews and Training 

A resource to encourage SPH faculty to take UW News media training and to know best practices, processes, and university policies and preferences for media interviews and engagements.

SPH Guidance for Communications on World Affairs

A resource to inform our community of political activity polices, laws, and best practices as they relate to communications and to provide strategy, best practices, and process for necessary communications and statements on topics impacting our school and public health. 

SPH Listserv Policy and Protocol

SPH Guiding Questions and Process for Institutional Statements

SPH and department leadership will decide whether and when to release a statement in consultation with University Marketing and Communications and University leadership. SPH and departmental leadership will follow the University of Washington Leadership Statements Guide and this SPH internal criteria to decide if a statement is necessary to support our School’s community and our shared mission, vision, values and strategic goals
