Description:

The Center for Devices and Radiological Health, US Food and Drug Administration, Silver Spring, Maryland, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in toxicological science. Applicants must be within five years of receiving their PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) when starting the fellowship and reside in the U.S. for the last 3 out of 5 years. The fellow will join a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on applying multiple in silico computational models/tools in support of preclinical safety assessment of medical devices. Knowledge of computational tools for hazard identification is desirable. Previous research experience in toxicology will be considered a plus. In addition, the position provides the fellow with an opportunity to conduct regulatory scientific research and FDA regulatory process for evaluating medical device biocompatibility. The FDA fellowship is a year-by-year contract position and provides a very competitive stipend, and opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with fellow U.S. and non-U.S. scientists of diverse expertise and background.
