Whatcom County Health Department is seeking 4 temporary Contact Case Investigators to assist in the response to COVID-19. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to receive and respond to confidential information in a professional, empathetic nature as they interview clients affected by COVID-19.

Essential duties include:
Responds and conducts disease outbreak case investigation. Receives, screens and investigates reports of COVID-19 cases using interview form in paper or web based formats. Interviews clients and follows up with all identified contacts to assure appropriate screening, testing and treatment was obtained.
Provide outreach, information, referral, follow-up and case management services in a variety of programs in coordination with public health professional staff.
Completes case report forms in a timely manner or enters all data into a web portal provided by Washington State Department of Health.
Provides customer service and support to the public by performing complex case and contact investigation support activities. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community groups, agencies and individuals. Develop and maintain local and regional contacts and networks.

Supervisor: COVID-19 Special Projects Manager
Location: Remote
This position will be assigned to work full time for approximately 3 months, followed by 69 hours/month.
Hours will vary. May be required to work weekends.
Duration of the assignment is dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic and the response required to address community needs.

Skills/Eligibility:

Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED AND three (3) years of progressively responsible general office, clerical and/or secretarial experience.
Must have a remote office set up with strong internet connection.
Experience working in front line customer service, interviewing, and handling confidential information is preferred. Salary
