Please note the recent advertisement of a GS-7/9 non-supervisory [Student Trainee] Environmental Health Specialist position in Dunseith, ND that closes on Thursday, 31 December 2020. The position resides in the Dunseith Field Station, in Dunseith, ND within the Great Plains Area, IHS, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering, Division of Environmental Health Services, about 180 miles north of Bismarck, ND. This developmental field sanitarian position is being recruited under the Pathways Recent Graduate Program and will develop, implement, and promote a comprehensive environmental health services program within the IHS Belcourt Service Unit and to provide on-site technical assistance within the OEHE Minot District.

 

Selected individuals are placed in a dynamic one year developmental program in the excepted service designed to lead to a civil service career in the Federal government. At the successful conclusion of this program, the agency may non-competitively convert individuals to a term or permanent position in the competitive service. Conversion to a Federal competitive service position will be at the discretion of the agency and is neither guaranteed nor implied.
