primary focus is on farmers—both experienced and new farmers—but our work also benefits

potlucks, workshops and farm tours, the Experience Farming Project, and the Farmland
Network. We advocate for farmers and landowners at the city and county levels. SnoValley Tilth

Role
The Farm Services Program Manager works to identify, prioritize, and respond to the needs of
SVT farmer members. By combining regular communication with farmers with an understanding
of current consumer trends, farming technology advancements, policy and regulatory changes,
the Farm Services Program Manager will select, implement and manage continuing technical
and business support for farmer members. This includes planning, coordinating, producing and
evaluating the organization’s educational events, including farm tours, technical intensives, and
online farmer resources. The Farm Services Program Manager will work to diversify the
audience SVT serves and ensure that our programming is provided in an equitable manner.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Executive Director

Responsibilities
● Conduct outreach via monthly gatherings (farm tours, educational programs, potlucks
and happy hours), individual communication, and an annual survey. The Farm Services
Program Manager will stay apprised of areas where local farmers seek technical and
business support and will work to bridge farming communities in SVT’s service area.
● Refine and Expand SnoValley Tilth’s Farmer Membership Program. Clarify and enhance
member benefits and categories. This includes working with other staff, board members,
farmer stakeholders, and other partners to think strategically about meaningful
membership benefits and the overall structure of the membership program. Identify
barriers to participation in SVT programs and work to make programs inclusive for
farmers in our service area.
● Coordinate the delivery of a suite of technical support services for farmers including:
○ Monthly educational gatherings
○ Technical intensives and business workshops
○ Bulk purchasing and infrastructure sharing opportunities
○ Bi-monthly virtual gatherings and workshops /webinars
○ Livestock Producers listserv
● Identify, select and secure speakers and consultants for programming based upon farm
member needs and knowledge of current issues and challenges of agriculture in the
region. Support speakers and consultants in the effective delivery of programs for farmer
members.
● Coordinate all logistics for in-person and online events, including technical support,
securing venues, preparing materials, acquiring food and materials, setting up, and
breakdown following events.
● Promote events and opportunities via digital marketing outlets, including SVT’s social
media, website, listserv, and newsletter, as well as connecting with partners and farmer
members.
● Design, print, and distribute written materials in support of program curriculum and to
promote SVT events.
● Maintain SVT’s website and event calendar with relevant information for farmers.
● Manage relationships with partner organizations and agencies thorough regular
communication.
● Regularly evaluate programs including tracking participant data and program efficacy.
● Participate in grant reporting.
● Respond to farmer inquiries and help connect farmers to appropriate resources.
● Manage SVT’s library and other educational resources.

Employment Period and Salary: This is a part-time hourly, year-round position. Work hours
are expected to average 20 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours will be
necessary based upon programming needs. Pay rate is $17-$20/hour. SnoValley Tilth offers 10
paid holidays per year as well as paid time off.

Skills/Eligibility:

The ideal candidate will have:
● An understanding of the support and service needs of sustainable farms. Familiarity
with farming in the Snoqualmie and Snohomish valleys is preferred.
● Demonstrated ability to work with community stakeholders, receive input, and respond
appropriately.
● Demonstrated experience building education or technical programs for professional
audiences.
● Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
● Experience coordinating workshops and meetings with outside speakers.
● Familiarity using social media and other electronic outlets to promote events.
● Experience filming and editing videos for educational programs.
● Excellent english communication skills, both written and oral. Fluency in a second
language is preferred.
● The ability to foster collaborations with other nonprofits, government agencies, and
businesses to deliver services.
● Experience managing a budget.
● Excellent time management skills.
● A commitment to developing a more equitable and just food system in our region and
beyond through conversation, connection, collaboration and action.
