Join a small grassroots non-profit organization in our work in making sure our neighbors have food on their tables and a roof over their heads. We are looking for a development and communications magician that will engage and mobilize community support in order to raise friends, food, and funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development
    • Steward meaningful and consistent donor engagement to assure positive donor relations
    • Build on the foundation of our Major Donors program
    • Work with database administrator to coordinate and track donor communication and engagement through Salesforce as well as create reports and analyze fundraising trends
    • Assist in developing strategies for fund development at all levels
    • Coordinate events that raise funds and promote North Helpline in the community
    • Work with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to grow development capacity
    • Work towards community centric fundraising at North Helpline
  • Communications
    • Tell North Helpline’s story through our work and the people we serve
    • Supervise and create content for website, social media, and mass emails
    • Produce print communications including an annual report
    • Ensure North Helpline is represented at appropriate community meetings and other events
  • Other
  • Participate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and strategic planning along with board and staff.
    • Support our primary mission of making sure our neighbors have food on their tables and are roof over their heads.

COMPENSATIONthis position is : salaried, 50k-75k

Skills/Eligibility:

  • Passion for our mission
  • 2-3 years of experience in the fundraising field required building relationships with donors
  • High attention to detail, ability to prioritize projects, efficiency, and the ability to work effectively with little instruction
  • Able to multitask in a random, busy, and chaotic work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • Able to professionally interact with volunteers, clients, donors, government employees, elected officials, and other public agency personnel in a culturally diverse environment
  • Effectively utilize volunteer support
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Communicating empathy and a sense of humor are a must
  • Experience in Salesforce preferred
  • Knowledge in basic concepts of graphic design
  • Multi Lingual preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with no outstanding violations
  • Able to drive a full size van (automatic transmission)
  • Able to work flexible hours including overtime if required

The Development & Communications Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and work with the staff, board, volunteers, and interns.  Some flexibility with work schedule, at our Lake City offices, with some evenings and weekend work.
