The Farmer Training Apprenticeship is a five-month farm crew position that immerses participants in all aspects of farming: production, creativity and business planning. This experiential work-trade program focuses on providing skills, inspiration and experience for participants interested in launching their own small-scale farm.
Participants are selected based on their level of interest, personal experience and potential for future application of what they’ve learned. We strive to select a diverse group of participants and welcome all applicants! Black, Indigenous and aspiring farmers of color, members of the LGBTQ community, and veterans are encouraged to apply. Space in the program is limited to 2-3 people and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all spaces are filled. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hours per week (approx.): 25
- Serious interest in starting your own farm business
- Ability to learn and work alongside others
- Prior farming experience is preferred but not required
