Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Community Health Data Analyst PSJH to our location in Renton, WA, or CA, or OR.

We are seeking a Senior Community Health Data Analyst PSJH who will be responsible for leading and developing data governance, analytics and reporting support to the organization. This role will lead the development of a variety of analyses, including data mining and report/dashboard development. The Senior Community Health Data Analyst is responsible for supporting regional leaders, CHI System Office leadership and many internal/external stakeholders with community health data projects, meeting timelines, targets and expectations. This role is integral to the development and maintenance of the community health data ecosystem and financial and governance dashboards, including community, public, and population health methodologies and data. This role will support, lead and drive the design, implementation, integration, and execution of CHI program evaluations. This position and its accountabilities are integral to executing on our department, and system Community Health strategic priorities, as well as core to the PSJH Mission, Vision, and commitment to achieving Health for a Better World.

The Senior Data Analyst must understand healthcare business operations, and must have the ability to conceptualize processes and covert these to actionable steps. This position will be a self-starter, be comfortable working with mixed data sources, developing dashboards for exceptional data portrayal and visualization, and be able to to work effectively in SQL, Tableau, Esri ArcGIS, and/or other data tools. This position will seek strategic opportunities to solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization, and especially to collaborate and engage with multiple stakeholders within the CHI department, the broader Community Partnerships team, and various community health governance committees and/or collaboratives as appropriate. Some occasional business travel within the PSJH system is required to support these assigned accountabilities.

In this position you will:

  • Develop dashboards for monitoring Community Health Improvement activities and progress using financial, community/public health, and population health data.

  • Develop and maintain community health data ecosystem, feeding dashboards for local governance and overall division performance.

  • Work with Strategic Services to ensure alignment and implementation of PSJH’s Community Health & Well-Being Indicators.

  • Support writing and synthesis of Community Health Needs Assessments and Community Health Improvement Plans as needed.

  • Design and implement program evaluations for CHI-funded and other related programs.

  • Provide expertise regarding the Social Determinants of Health and the financial impact of addressing social needs on overall health outcomes.

  • Recognize areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation. Monitor data integrity to ensure reporting accuracy at all times, and ensure data accuracy and integrity through defined validation methodologies.

  • Interact and communicate with technical, clinical, leadership, and operations personnel, consistently exhibiting behavior and presentation/communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service and PSJH values.

  • Employ advanced critical thinking skills in the creation, development and deployment of advanced data analysis, systems and processes.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Master’s Degre in Public Health/Epidemiology, Data Science or related field

  • 3 years Public health, community health, social work, or non-profit social service experience

  • 3 years developing data visualizations and/or data lake

  • 2 years demonstrated work experience in a senior and/or lead role, preferably in a healthcare setting

  • 5 years related work experience demonstrating progressive responsibility

  • Strong knowledge of statistics, data analysis and data bases

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills

  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills

  • Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years Writing reports, communications, white papers, and/or related education
