SUMMARY:
The Food Bank Coordinator is a 30 hours per week (or less) part-time position at the Northshore Senior Center and is responsible for the overall coordination of food bank services. In addition, the coordinator will help with Outreach and Social Service information/referrals, that will ensure that all clients that come for food bank also have access to a broad range of social services provided through Northshore Senior Center (NSC). There will be need to conduct community outreach and develop collaborative relationships with the leadership of Northshore Senior Center, along with local community organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees all aspects of the operations of the Food Bank Program at the Bothell Senior Center and support the Kenmore Food Pantry at the Kenmore Senior Center
2. Orders/coordinates food for food bank, monitors nutritional content, tracks inventory, and receives weekly donations/deliveries, keep budget for foods ordered, and other statistic details.
3. Have good supportive supervision skills for the Food Bank Volunteers, and both reporting to Program Manager as well as Director of Senior Centers.
4. Ensures food bank, office space, storage room, etc. are all clean and well organized
5. Complies with State of Washington & King County food safety/food handling guidelines
6. Monitors annual program spending allocation as instructed by Program Manager
7. Work closely with NSC staff, Program Managers, Directors, and others to provide quality service
8. Oversees and trains volunteers to ensure proper execution of tasks and customer service
9. Supervises and schedules volunteers who cover the food bank on set days/hours, delivering of food to centers
10. Assist with stocking food bank shelves, receiving donations, etc. throughout the week
11. Manages client data input and provides monthly statistics report to Program Manager
12. Participates in supervision and monthly staff meetings, NSC training, and other agency-related activities
13. Provide support with other department initiatives, special events including parish and community outreach in the Northshore Community
14. Comply with all other requests and tasks as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Senior Centers
15. Collaborate with Social Services staff regarding additional services, as SNAP, housing assistance and immigration services
16. Provide outreach to the neighboring areas of Northshore
17. Offer all clients information about alternative social services

RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Supervised by the Bothell Program Manager – Northshore Senior Center
2. Maintains positive working relationships with Senior Center staff, volunteers, and community members.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises Food Bank Volunteers.

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:
1. A minimum of 1-3 years of working with economically vulnerable populations and/or seniors is preferred
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
3. Excellent writing and organizational skills and basic computer skills
4. Experience working effectively with volunteer teams.
5. Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles (e.g., low income, minorities, frail, and disabled).
6. Ability to respond to multiple demands in a courteous and effective manner.
7. High level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Publisher and knowledge of print shop techniques is desirable.
8. Valid Washington State Driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
9. Ability to work flexible hours, some nights and weekends.
10. Ability to work independently and creatively.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
13. Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Manage day-to-day operations of Food Bank, 40%
2. Remain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer, 10%
3. Organizing, sorting, packing, moving boxes, and distributing donations, must be able to lift 50 lbs., 40%
4. Collaboration with NSC staff through meetings and program outreach along with agencies, 10%
