Description:

Looking for a rewarding, entry-level position in social services? As an Employment Counselor, you will get to address and improve social determinants of health first hand by assisting individuals obtain and maintain jobs. We follow the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model to do this, which provides wrap around support for individuals with mental health diagnoses and the opportunity for employment staff to collaborate with mental health clinicians, employers, and other state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of two years of related experience

• Experience working with disabled population(s)

• Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets

• Vehicle required and ability to pass driving records check if transporting clients

• Ability to work closely and cooperatively with clients and staff and be flexible

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Good organizational skills

• Sales and/or social services experience (preferred)

• Flexible and recovery-services oriented

• Experience or passion in working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health diagnoses (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide job development, job placement and job retention support services to adults with disabilities

• Complete daily notes and reports on participations’ progress for all employment services

• Review and assist in preparation of individualized service plans

• Complete Intake and assessments dependent upon credentials

• Recruit employers to provide competitive part-time and/or full-time jobs for IKRON consumers

• Provide benefits management and follow-up services

• Coordinate activities with other behavioral health professionals, administrative and clinical staff, Career Specialists, Vocational Director, and Executive Director

• Assist, upon request, with administrative matters, special projects, including development assignments, trainee evaluations/outcomes, and quality assurance

• Sensitive and supportive of clients’ needs

• Ability to serve as an appropriate role model
