Your Role

We seek an energetic and insightful person, with demonstrated expertise in training and curriculum development, training facilitation, and user experience. We seek someone who can develop and facilitate client and user facing technology onboarding activities, as described below, as well as serve as a member of our broader consulting team

You will be a key member of the Community Change Group. Putting people at the center of technology adoption, the Community Change Group works with community-level, multi-stakeholder engagements where we onboard a diverse set of organizations and users so they can work together to improve the services provided for shared populations.

Our clients often include community-based organizations providing housing and other social services, mental health and substance use service providers, clinics, and hospitals. This position is a full-time role.

What you will do: 

  • Facilitate client adoption of new technologies that enable collaboration across stakeholders, including:
    • Developing and delivering trainings for internal and external audiences, including trainings on technology systems that our clients are adopting;
    • Providing design and user experience expertise to guide clients on project and product development;
    • Working with clients to understand the impact of technology implementation on the system of care, and coaching clients through systems change using quality improvement and change management methodologies;
  • Leading and supporting aspects of client engagements across the firm’s portfolio of work using advanced project management and communications skills to ensure projects are successful and all team members, clients, and firm leadership are appropriately informed at all times;
  • Supporting Intrepid Ascent consulting engagements through research, analysis of information, and contributions to the development of high-quality work products;
  • Developing subject matter expertise and analytical skills across Intrepid Ascent practice areas (data strategy, technology adoption, collaboration across sectors, and governance);
  • Engaging in professional growth activities, such as reading industry material, attending conferences and educational events, online courses, knowledge transfer with other staff, utilizing learning resources from relevant professional organizations;
  • Supporting internal Intrepid projects as needed; and
  • Occasional travel to support client engagements.

  • Training / Onboarding: Ability to develop and lead trainings for clients, support health IT onboarding, and engage in activities to support health IT adoption and utilization. Familiarity with learning management systems strongly desired.
  • User Experience: Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve the user’s experience of new technologies; ability to capture and communicate user feedback to increase ease of use and improve functionality of technology platforms.
  • Public Health: Commitment to public health objectives for underserved populations; strong understanding of safety-net programs (esp. Medicaid), community health centers, public hospitals, and managed care/value-based care; understanding of social determinants of health and intersection of social services and health care services.
  • Quality / Performance Improvement: Knowledge of improvement methodology (process mapping, plan-do-study-act cycles, and using data to demonstrate improvement); ability to lead or support workflow assessment, documentation, and redesign. Familiarity with change management, human-centered design, and adult-learning theory/curriculum development strongly encouraged.
  • Consulting / Technical Assistance: 3+ years of previous consulting or other relevant experience required. Ability to contribute to multiple engagements simultaneously, with frequent context-switching during the workday, while maintaining excellent focus, quality of work product, and teamwork. Experience managing relationships with and delivering presentations to clients or organizational leadership.
  • Health Information Technology: Previous experience enabling users of health IT systems to effectively access and share data for improved quality of care, including a willingness to serve as a “translator” between client needs and the capabilities of technology vendors, applying appropriate knowledge and experience to allow clients to continuously improve their own health IT environments;
  • Project Management: Strong knowledge of or expertise in project management processes; ability to use project management tools at all levels – as project lead, project manager, project coordinator, etc.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Creative problem-solving mindset to support clients as well as internal needs; advanced research, data analysis, and visualization experience.

  • Bachelors required; graduate degree preferred;
  • Three to five (3-5) years or more of related analytical, project management, and/or consulting experience;
  • Passion for supporting positive change through innovative solutions in health care and allied fields;
  • Past work in project management, including planning project resources, assembling and leading a project team, time management, meeting facilitation, issue and risk management, project schedule and progress monitoring, deliverables tracking, reporting and documentation, and evaluation of project success
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to master new topics and ideas quickly; additional qualifications include creative problem-solving, high level of motivation, efficiency, and flexibility;
  • Ability to contribute to multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining excellent focus, quality of work product, and teamwork;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce professional written documents, visual diagrams, and reports; Experience with standard business and collaboration tools such as MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Slack, and Wrike; advanced abilities with project management and data visualization platforms preferred.
