Position Description:

The TA will support the professor in teaching GH 511, an online MPH course. This is a course which explores social, political, economic, and environmental determinants of health and societal responses to health problems globally. Covers impact of colonialism, equity strategies, Primary Health Care, neoliberalism, war, international agencies, the climate crisis, water, sanitation, and traditional health systems. Student groups develop proposals to improve health systems or address social determinants of health in a specific low-income country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend each online class sessions
  • Read and comment on written assignments
  • Grade based on provided rubric
  • Supervise student projects
  • Hold office hours
  • Conduct interactive discussion sessions
