Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive quality improvement, safety and improvement consulting services to assigned division or department. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates quality improvement projects related to system development, process improvement, and operational and strategic planning to improve quality of care. This role will act as the liaison between the designated division and the other system support resources. The role is also responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the outcomes and making recommendations for improvement and potential replication in other clinical areas. Provides leadership, expertise, education, program development, and consultation services to promote innovation and improvement. Supports regulatory compliance. Works collaboratively with the team and other health care professionals in the development of division outcomes and supports program development and organizational mission, vision, and goals. 

Primary job responsibilities and accountabilities:

Collaborate with clinical leadership, staff,  and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate integrated quality and improvement leadership support to designated clinical areas.  Assess current and desired state for quality and regulatory requirements and develop appropriate improvement plans and initiatives intended to meet desired state.

Work with  team leadership,  to develop, execute and review improvement plans, progress measurement, identification of barriers and appropriate countermeasures, and to incorporate them into  standard work to champion the new strategic approach

Creates, manages, directs, and supports the QI Curriculum and Plan for Implementation and facilitates prioritization of the interventions and order of testing.

Validates and updates the theory for improvement with the assistance of leadership. Conducts support qualitative and quantitative analysis of network health and performance metrics.

Writes, submits, and presents reports as required by projects or programs.  Prepares and delivers presentations to various leadership groups.  Communicates issues, and findings in reports and presentations. Provides input into development of specific program goals.  Collaborates and coordinates with project stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, health information, or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading improvement within a clinical quality, safety and/or improvement environment
- Demonstrated experience in developing Quality Improvement (QI) skills in others through coaching, education, and training
- Experience in developing systems and effectively collaborating to achieve results to support safe, quality patient care
- Experience in setting milestones, mitigating risk, and communicating with multi-center leadership

Preferred:
- Demonstrated successful experience leading complex change in a healthcare setting
- Experience training and presenting to diverse audiences
- Experience with implementation science frameworks is helpful
