The Snohomish Health District is hiring a Community Health Outreach Worker to join the Tuberculosis Program. For a complete position description and to submit your application please visit the provided applicant portal link. 

Under the direction of the Tuberculosis Program and Refugee Health Program Supervisor, or designee, incumbent will be responsible for providing Directly Observed Therapy to individuals diagnosed with active tuberculosis or latent tuberculosis infection, or under prophylactic tuberculosis therapy.

Incumbent will deliver TB medication to clients at their home, work setting, or other location as agreed upon to observe the client ingesting their medication. Incumbent will assist the program’s professional staff with the coordination of care for clients being seen by the Tuberculosis Program, including delivery of prepared sputum containers, delivery of occasional groceries and supplies, and keeping the Public Health Nurse case manager informed of issues or concerns noted while visiting the client.

Skills for the position may be gained through education, certification, relevant job experience or a combination, such as:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: one (1) year of relevant work experience

Or: In place of the above requirement, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual’s knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.

Licenses, Certifications and Other:

• DOH Certification in TB testing, directly observed therapy, preferred
• Fluency in foreign language, preferred
• Valid Washington State Driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and a driving record which meets the requirements of Snohomish Health District’s insurance carrier
• Background check pursuant to RCW 43.43.830

Salary: $4,003.00 - $5,364.00 per month
