OPPORTUNITY TYPE: Job

JOB #: 19178

POSTED: November 22, 2022

Description:

The BRiTE Center is looking to hire a Research Coordinator to help lead the early detection, intervention and engagement program, led by Ben Buck.  This program is housed within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UW. The BRiTE Center brings together a diverse group of researchers, clinicians, technologists, patients and mental health advocates with a common goal of improving the lives of those suffering with mental illness, their families, and communities. The emerging research program in early intervention focuses on the development and testing of innovative digital interventions to support young adults at risk for psychosis and their family members.

The Research Coordinator will dedicate their time to a portfolio of federally funded research projects related to technology and serious mental illness. He/she/they will be responsible for day-to-day management of research projects related to the development of digital health technologies designed to support young adults with early psychosis and their families. Each of these interventions aims to provide healthy psychoeducation, reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking. This role will involve research interviews, data collection, and oversight of online data capture as well as research management and interaction with institutional entities (e.g. the institutional review board or NIH). The research coordinator will also have opportunities to contribute to publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts contributing to the literature examining digital health for individuals at risk for mental illness, as well as the building and optimization of technologies designed for this population.
