The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy invites nominations and applications for three full-time, nine-month tenure-track or tenured positions at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, and/or professor, with training and expertise in areas aligned with the Department’s strategic plan.

Founded in 1859, our College is the fifth oldest college of pharmacy in the United States and the oldest entity within the University of Illinois System. Our academic and research programs are ranked among the top colleges of pharmacy in the country. The UIC College of Pharmacy, with campuses in Chicago and Rockford, IL, is one of seven health sciences colleges in the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, and one of only five academic health centers in the U.S. with all of the human health professions. Faculty in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy (PSOP) have strong research programs and work collaboratively with experts in the UIC Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Applied Health Sciences, Business, Engineering, the School of Public Health, other academic institutions in Chicago, pharmaceutical companies, health provider organizations, and government agencies, among others. Many departmental faculty are associated with the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research, a highly successful research unit in the College.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The selected candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a strong extramurally funded research program aligned with the department’s mission and strategic plan.
• The selected candidates also will be required to teach courses and mentor/advise professional PharmD and graduate students in the PSOP department.

Qualifications:

• A PhD (or equivalent) or PharmD with postdoctoral research education or training is required.

• Candidates should have research training and/or experience in at least one of the following areas: health economics, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, health outcomes research, health and drug policy, population health, quality and patient safety, pharmacy systems and outcomes, public health, health equity, substance use disorders, health informatics, implementation science, and/or related fields. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with strong methodological skills who possess research and teaching interests consistent with that of the department.
