Description:

Isis Garcia is working on a project in collaboration with Best Start for Kids, Community Well Being Initiative, Zero Youth Detention, and School Based Health Centers called “Landscape Assessment of the Youth Behavioral Health Workforce in King County”. The purpose of this project is to understand the strengths and challenges that the youth behavioral health workforce is experiencing in regard to the recruitment and retention of diverse youth-serving behavioral health providers and alternative healers. The population focus of this project is BIPOC and LGBTQ youth and young adults between the age of 5 and 24. This project aims to inform future programmatic and policy work in improving diversity and representation of the workforce to support and improve youth mental health in King County.


The data collection process entails conducting focus groups with local traditional and alternative behavioral health providers in King County. The final deliverable will be a final report with programmatic and policy recommendations that will be shared with partners in King County.

Scope of work We are hoping to hire around 1 to 3 notetakers for these focus groups. Notetakers will be paid $50 per note taking session. There will be a total of 8 focus group sessions that will be held on:

● Tuesday Feb 14th - 5:30 PM

● Wednesday Feb 22nd - 3:00 PM

● Friday Feb 24th - 10:00 AM

● Tuesday Feb 28th - 5:30 PM

● Friday March 3rd - 10:00 AM

● Wednesday March 8th - 3:00 PM

● Friday March 10th - 10:00 AM

● Tuesday March 14th - 5:30 PM

Note taking for focus groups include preparation and post meeting work (we would meet 15 minutes prior to the focus group start time, and organize and discuss notes 15 minutes after). Please make sure you are available for at least 3 of these focus group dates and times.

 

Skills/Eligibility:

1. Individuals must have prior experience in note taking for interviews or focus groups
2. Individuals must be available for at least 3 of the dates and times listed above
3. The individual must be available for a note taking training session on Sunday, February the 12th (specific time is TBD with individuals selected but anytime between 12 and 5PM).
