Description:

The Office of Dietary Supplement Programs (ODSP) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition is seeking
outstanding toxicologists to support dietary ingredient research through the ORISE Research Participation Program (https://orise.orau.gov/fda). The position will involve researching toxicity and exposure data of single and complex mixtures. 

Specific positions include:
Supporting the evaluation of safety data which includes in vitro, in vivo, and clinical results.
Assist in the toxicology research of dietary ingredients using approaches such as manuscript analysis, systematic review, meta-analysis, or risk assessment.


The duty location is at 5001 Campus Drive, College Park, Maryland, 20740.

Skills/Eligibility:

A Ph.D. degree in in toxicology or an equivalent appropriate discipline of the biological, medical, or veterinary sciences that included at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, biochemistry, or physiology, and 12 semester hours in toxicology is required. Training or experience with the toxicology of ingested products (e.g., food including dietary supplements) or related in vitro or in vivo toxicology is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have experience in toxicology (e.g., ADME, pharmacokinetics, carcinogenesis, target organ effects, or threshold effects) literature searches, research, and manuscript preparation.
