This is a full-time, permanent Epidemiologist 3 position located whin the Office of Nutrition Services.

As an Epidemiologist 3, you will supervise all epidemiology positions within the Office of Nutrition Services.  You’ll be responsible for independently proposing and supervising epidemiological projects and studies that affect child and maternal health morbidity and mortality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of staff, adjusting assignments and schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels and execution of quality analysis work efforts and results based on staff skills, abilities and office needs.

• Conducting employee performance reviews of epidemiologists and other staff within the Unit, ensuring the accuracy and quality of work and overall work performance.
• Independently proposing and planning WIC epidemiological projects and investigations of infant and maternal health morbidity and mortality.
• Coordinating with local, State, and Federal health programs.
• Providing technical knowledge input at in-person meetings.

The duty station for this position is Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile-work) is currently expected. When approved, the incumbent is expected to attend in-person meetings when necessary.  An alternative work schedule may be considered upon request and supervisor approval. This would need to be a conversation between the hiring supervisor and the incumbent.
