Communicable Disease (CD) Nurse / Manager for Innovative Multnomah County (Oregon) Public Health

Acumen Executive Search is again partnering with Multnomah County’s Health Department to find their next Communicable Disease Manager. The County’s Health Department is the largest Public Health organization in Oregon and is considered a model for their groundbreaking and progressive policy work nationally. The Communicable Disease Manager for Multnomah County Public Health Division promotes its Mission, Vision, and Values through an integrated set of services, programs, policy work, and systems related to health. The Communicable Disease Program division works with communities to advance health equity, protect the most vulnerable and promote health and wellness for everyone.   

The Communicable Disease Manager’s role will involve developing and providing management of the Communicable Disease Program, Tuberculosis Program (TB), Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Emerging Infections connection, and CD Epidemiology, and coordinating efforts and resources closely with HIV/STD and immunization programs.

If you: 

• Are currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse as outlined by Oregon Revised

Statutes (ORS) 678.021 (or can obtain this license.)

• Bring clinical or public health experience with infectious diseases.
• Have experience with oversight of teams and budgets. 
• Create a work culture of respect, trust, and understanding for the highly diverse populations the Health Department serves in the office and the community.
• Can research and identify community health needs, recommend strategies, and coordinate implementation.
• Have experience responding to complex emergent situations, including timely decision-making with limited data.
• Develop strategic direction, resource allocation, and compliance with Public Health policies and statutes for communicable disease epidemiology informatics and data system efforts and structures.
• Understand how Communicable Disease prevention and responses impacts different communities and how this work interplays with the social determinates of health.
