Parent / Maternal Child Family Health Director for Innovative Multnomah County (Oregon)

Acumen Executive Search is again partnering with Multnomah County’s Health Department to find their next equity-led Parent / Maternal Child Family Health Director. The County’s Health Department is the largest Public Health organization in Oregon and is considered a model for their groundbreaking and progressive policy work nationally. The Multnomah County Health Department is a mission-driven and equity-led organization. Multnomah County Public Health Division promotes its Mission, Vision, and Values through an integrated set of services, programs, policy work, and systems related to maternal child health. The program areas under Parent / Child Family Health works with communities to advance health equity, protect the most vulnerable, and promote health and wellness for everyone.   

As the Parent / Maternal Child Family Health Director, your role will involve Healthy Birth Initiatives, Nurse Family Partnership, and Healthy Homes (Lead Poisoning and Asthma Prevention) for the County.    

If you:    

• Are an experienced leader in Maternal and Child Health with knowledge of best practices and standards.
• A practitioner in the maternal, child and/or family health field -- Doula, Midwife, Nurse, Social Worker, etc.
• Have experience working across culturally specific groups and integrating cultural practices within program areas.  
• Have experience with oversight of teams and budgets. 
• Can lead the program through strategic planning and budgeting processes.   
• Have experience operationalizing equity within teams and programs.
• Are a collaborative leader who can work across the County and partner with agencies to integrate care and address the social determinants of health across disciplines.  
• Are a data-driven leader that can track outcomes and ensure that programs meet federal and state requirements.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $132,000. The County also offers a highly attractive compensation package: pension (PERS), paid healthcare, generous paid time off, and other perks in addition to its mission-driven and community-focused culture. This work matters!

Location: Office at Walnut Park Complex (5329 NE MLK Jr Blvd Portland, OR). Limited telework available by arrangement with supervisor.
