Description:

The School of Public Health Advancement Team has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director for Philanthropy.  This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Director of Philanthropy.

The Assistant Director for Philanthropy (ADOP) is responsible for increasing private support for the School of Public Health (SPH) and enhancing alumni and donor relations with the School. Private support raised from individual donors directly impacts our student recruitment and retention, faculty recruitment and retention, research endeavors, and operation of the school. These goals are accomplished primarily through fundraising activities (including research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective donors), public and targeted events, broad-based alumni relations, and Advancement marketing and communications.

To fulfill the duties of the position, the ADOP interacts directly with school leadership, faculty, students and staff, vendors, service providers, university officials, donors and potential donors, alumni, and volunteers.

Salary: $6540 - $6884 per month 

Skills/Eligibility:

 

Who You Are (Minimum Requirements)

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in fundraising, events management, communications or a related field. Equivalent combination of comparable knowledge and skills may substitute for education and/or experience.

Ability to work collegially and effectively with internal and external partners and constituencies.

Demonstrated strong computer skills, including relational databases, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, etc.

It Would Be Great If You Had

Professional development experience in higher education.
Previous individual, corporate, and foundation donor discovery experience.
Experience working with volunteers.

Knowledge of alumni relations/development/advancement principles.
