Description:

Snohomish County Health Department is recruiting for Epidemiologist 2 focused on opioids and other drugs. The Epidemiologist 2 will serve the Snohomish Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) Group. The MAC Group was formed to reduce current and future abuse and misuse of opioids including fentanyl and similar drugs and to reduce negative health outcomes, including death, by expanding available resources for individuals who misuse or abuse drugs. For more about the MAC Group, see Multi-Agency Coordination Group - Snohomish Overdose Prevention.  The Epidemiologist 2 will lead assessment and program evaluation work on behalf of the MAC Group, with the goal of understanding the effectiveness of MAC Group interventions. The Epidemiologist 2 will work collaboratively with MAC Group agencies and community partners to understand the impact of opioid and other drug use and misuse in Snohomish County, suggest data-driven interventions to address the crisis, and assess the effectiveness of interventions.  

Skills/Eligibility:

 Minimum Qualifications

Education:       A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Informatics Data Science, or a related field. 

Experience:     Three (3) years of experience in epidemiology research and analysis, program evaluation and/or practice and/or informatics, database management, data science and/or quality control.

                        Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a public health agency.

  • Successful completion of a background check pursuant to RCW 43.43.830.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and a driving record which meets the requirements of Snohomish Health Department’s insurance carrier
