Description:

Our UW School of Public Health (SPH) Dean’s Office Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Team is looking for a graduate level Academic Student Employee (ASE) to start on July 1st, 2024 and serve through AY 2024-2025. This role is for a research assistant who will largely be supporting Universal Anti-Racism Trainings, survey and data analysis, as well as some other team projects.

This is a 20 hour per week (.5FTE) position, and includes a tuition waiver (does not cover non-tuition related fees) and is a paid graduate student position. Pay rate will be based on your level of education credentials in accordance with the University of Washington student pay scale guide. 
 

EligibilityProspective applicants must be:  

  • A current University of Washington Graduate (Master’s or PhD student; No undergraduate applicants will be considered

  • Enrolled in your graduate level program by July 1, 2024  

  • Able to enroll in at least 2 course credits for summer term 2024 (tuition is covered by waiver). The credits can be courses in your program or extracurricular. And enrolled for regular classes in the 2024-2025 AY

Job duties for this role include:  

  1. Collect and analyze data 

  1. Writing articles, reporting and/or giving presentations 

  1. Managing and responding to emails on behalf of the team via our shared email account 

  1. Updating and maintaining website content 

  1. Attend weekly team,1-on-1 meetings, and other EDI related meetings 

  1. Maintain faculty, staff, and student attendance records for Universal Anti-Racism Training 

  1. Support the EDI team in delivering Universal Anti-Racism Training Level 1 and 2 school- wide 

  1. Conduct anti-racism literature research and review, summarize and report findings;  

  1. Gather experiences of similarly situated public health schools doing anti-racism work;  

  1. Helping with the scheduling, distribution & logistics of trainings and tracking them;  

  1. Helping with the registration and evaluation of EDI trainings and other activities  

  1. Helping with the strategic plan tracking and EDI Road map tracking and updates   

  1. Work with school and community partners (such as ARCH) to co-develop, implement and share process evaluation measures and outcomes with the team and others  

  1. Helping with other duties as assigned.
