Hiring Salary: $18.00 Hourly
 

The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the critical need for strong public health services. In alignment with this objective, the CDC has allocated funds through the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) to enhance the public health workforce, with the Pima County Health Department (PCHD) being a recipient. As part of this initiative, PCHD is offering ten (10) paid summer internships of up to 400 hours each, providing aspiring public health professionals with valuable hands-on experience. These grant-funded temporary positions represent one of those ten (10) internship opportunities.   

This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.    

 

Duties/Responsibilities

(Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.)
 
Positions within this classification will perform a variety of administrative, operational or technical tasks as assigned by the department.  
 
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
 
Knowledge of:

Minimum Qualifications

Must be enrolled in graduate school with an institution that has an active affiliation agreement with PCHD. Majoring in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or related fields. Commit to intern a minimum of 400 hours between the dates of 05/28/2024 - 08/02/2024.
