Description:

The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and the Department of Biomedical Data Science at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College invites applications for tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor as part of a targeted expansion of Dartmouth’s biostatistics faculty.

The successful candidate will pursue a vigorous and innovative research program on statistical or related methods and, over time, establish a track record of research via the application of these methods in public health, health services, or health policy. Applicants working in any relevant area of statistics, including causal inference, innovative clinical trials, machine learning, network analysis and spatial statistics who also have strong computing skills are especially welcomed. The successful applicant will be expected to lead a portfolio of independent, methods-advancing work, drawing on collaborative relationships with members of the Dartmouth community for health services or policy questions requiring innovative statistical design and analysis approaches. 

Teaching and mentoring are also part of this role. The successful candidate will be provided with opportunities to teach and mentor through relevant PhD and master’s programs (e.g., those connected to the Program in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences or The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice).

Skills/Eligibility:

Applicants for this position must have earned a PhD or equivalent degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related discipline with the indication of long-term success as an independent investigator as evidenced by first-authored peer-reviewed publications and/or successful grant funding within the field.
