Description:

This position’s primary responsibility is to generate interest and leads for the Environmental Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) program, working closely with the College of Science. Key functions include outreach to prospective students, establishing business and community contacts, and promoting the program through word-of-mouth and strategic networking. While Admissions will manage the recruitment funnel, this individual will collaborate closely with the Admissions team, participating in specialized training as needed.

 

Essential Functions


This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment.


1.    Generate leads by building connections with external organizations, feeder programs, and industry contacts, specifically for the ESOH program.
2.    Stay well-versed in all UF programs to provide a broader university context, with ESOH lead generation as the primary focus.
3.    Collaborate with Enrollment Management to highlight ESOH’s unique qualities in marketing materials.
4.    Develop outreach plans for both traditional and non-traditional students, including organizing ESOH-specific visits, open houses, and information sessions.
5.    Coordinate with the Admissions Office to ensure the ESOH program’s representation at UF-sponsored recruiting events and to align communication strategies. 
6.    Develop and maintain a standard operating manual for areas of responsibility, and prepare an quarterly reports of activities submitted to the Chair of ESOH.

 

Additional Responsibilities
•    Manage ESOH social media presence in collaboration with UF’s marketing team.
•    Ensure alignment of ESOH program branding with admissions and UF-wide efforts.

Required Education and Experience
1.    High school diploma required.
2.    Experience in higher education, specifically with regard to recruiting or student services.
3.    Strong interpersonal communication skills, work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills, the ability to learn and adapt to various computer software, and the ability to learn and work independently are essential.

 

Preferred Education and Experience
1.    Four-year degree or equivalent experience in environmental health, safety, and sustainability 
2.    Event planning with coordination experience is helpful. 
3.    Proven experience as a recruiter, preferably in the environmental, health, and safety industry
4.    Work effectively with others to achieve common goals and an ability to alter planned activities in order to accommodate new or changed situations. 
5.    Power BI to develop materials and visuals on programmatic data
