The role:

Do you have a passion for safety? We want you to join our team as our region safety specialist training coordinator! In this role, you will deliver, audit and administer our safety training program and provide expert guidance to management, internal staff and other agencies. You will be a key contributor to and champion of a positive workplace safety culture and program!

A day in the life:

  • Develop the safety training curriculum and materials.
  • Schedule, coordinate and deliver trainings virtually or in a classroom.
  • Assess training or development needs.
  • Track training attendance.
  • Monitor safety compliance.
  • Research and answer safety compliance questions and complaints.
  • Participate in the safety committee and crew safety meetings.
  • Coordinate wellness and safety program activities.
  • Track and monitor facility inspections and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and maintain training records, equipment and materials.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and in the field and may require evening work, travel, overnight stays, moving around rough terrain and working at project sites near traffic hazards and heavy equipment.

Minimum qualifications:

Three years experience that included duties working with Workers’ Compensation loss prevention, the return to work of injured employees, and/or occupational health and wellness programs.

OR
A bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or a related field.

Special qualifications:

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
