Research Intern (Part-Time) - The HPV Vaccine Acceleration Program Partners Initiative (HAPPI) (Internship)
Description:
Description:
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world. The HPV Vaccine Acceleration Program Partners Initiative (HAPPI) Consortium was awarded to JSI by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in October 2022. The HAPPI project is managed by JSI in collaboration with Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC), Jhpiego, and PATH. Together, partners will enable global coordination efforts around the HPV vaccine, in addition to supporting HPV vaccine introduction in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, over 12.9 million girls ages 9-14 years have been vaccinated since the start of its phased national introduction in October 2023. The HAPPI project supported Nigeria with planning, implementation, and evaluation of the national introduction and is now seeking a graduate-level research intern to support a synthesis of existing written reports and slide decks that have assessed the experience of the national introduction of HPV vaccines in the country.
The Research Intern will assist project team members to compile, synthesize, and summarize the overall learning from the introduction of the HPV vaccine in Nigeria into a single summary report with thematic 1-page briefs. This content synthesis will utilize qualitative analysis approaches and follow key thematic areas related to HPV vaccination programs, such as preparations, training, communications, cold chain and vaccine logistics, data recording and reporting, etc. The Research Intern will create a codebook for analysis and conduct interrogations of the data using inductive and deductive approaches with Nvivo or Atlas.ti (or other qualitative analysis software) for data manipulation and compilation of the original text data from the published reports or slide decks, and Excel may be used to store the extracted data from reports. Findings may be summarized in tables, figures, visuals to be included in a report with 1-page thematic briefs.
