Marketing & Communications Intern - eDGH (Department of Global Health E-learning Program) (Internship)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and creative Marketing & Communications Intern to support outreach and engagement efforts for our global health professional development educational programs. This intern will assist eDGH with testimonial and case study collection, email marketing, social media (especially LinkedIn), flyer creation for partner sites, and promotional campaigns. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit or education-focused marketing and communications.
eDGH is in the early stages of building out a cohesive marketing and communications system—we’re just getting these efforts off the ground and could use help getting things organized. We’re looking for someone excited to help start systems with us: organizing content, launching templates and calendars, and building workflows from scratch. This is a unique opportunity to help shape foundational strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Testimonials & Case Studies
- Collect and organize testimonials from course participants and partners
- Maintain a central repository of testimonials and case studies
- Assist in identifying candidates for case studies and conduct interviews
- Draft and format case studies for publication across various platforms
- Collaborate on a plan to regularly collect and publish testimonials and case studies
Email Campaigns
- Support development of newsletter and ad hoc email content calendars
- Draft content and assist with email design and scheduling using email tools
- Help execute targeted nurture campaigns to increase course signups and enrollments
- Track performance and suggest improvements for future campaigns
LinkedIn Content & Strategy
- Review and update LinkedIn page content
- Assist with a content calendar for consistent posts (e.g., project highlights, participant stories, site coordinator spotlights)
- Tag relevant organizations and individuals to boost reach
- Track engagement and help optimize future posts
Flyer Development
- Help determine the use and effectiveness of flyers for course promotion at sites
- Design low-effort flyers using tools like Canva
- Coordinate flyer production and finalization
Promotional Campaigns
- Assist in identifying key audiences for specialized outreach and promotional campaigns
- Draft targeted messaging tailored to specific courses, topics, or professional audiences
- Support the planning, testing, and evaluation of promotional offers (e.g., discounts, early-bird rates)
- Help develop and execute digital marketing strategies to promote offers across email, social media, and web platforms
- Track campaign performance metrics and contribute to recommendations for future outreach

Compensation
Unfortunately, this is an unpaid internship. We are committed to providing a valuable, supportive experience with meaningful mentorship and professional development.

Total Hours: 200
Special scheduling: Open to flexible scheduling, provided that meetings are attended and deliverables are submitted on time
Skills/Eligibility:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Global/Public Health, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and editing
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Comfortable using LinkedIn and basic social media scheduling tools
- Comfortable using Asana, or similar, project management tool
- Experience with email marketing platforms, particularly Mailchimp, is a plus
- Interest in global health, online education, or nonprofit work preferred
