Safety Coordinator - Pullman Regional Hospital (Job)
Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Safety Coordinator to join our small rural hospital team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing safety initiatives to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement safety programs and policies
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
- Identify and report safety hazards and incidents
- Coordinate employee safety training and education
- Manage and maintain safety records and reports
- Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Assist with emergency management and preparedness efforts
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and best practices in safety
Skills/Eligibility:
Required Education, Licensure, Certifications, & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Safety, Health, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in safety coordination or related role
- Strong knowledge of safety laws and regulations (OSHA, CMS, etc.)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees and leadership
Preferred Education, Certifications, & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or related field
- Certified Professional Operations Professional (CHOP)
- Certification in safety (CSP or similar)
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures
- Knowledge of emergency management and preparedness
