Description:

DTG is seeking an experienced and driven Bilingual (Spanish) Safety Compliance Specialist to join DTG’s safety team. This position will be based out of Seattle or Tacoma and is required to be onsite and must respond to on-call duties outside of regular working hours. The Safety Compliance Specialist must possess the desire and ability to create and facilitate the continuous improvement of safety processes, systems, competencies, and infrastructure.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop and maintain relationships with collaborators, peers, and partners. 
  • Deliver new hire on boarding safety training onsite. 
  • Conduct all required safety training courses to include, but is not limited to: Fall Protection, LOTO, PIT, BBP, and Respiratory Protection.  
  • Works with Operations and the EHS Team to schedule compliance activities and track to completion. 
  • Provides compliance documentation support to the EHS Managers.
  • Learn software systems to provide support to the DOT Compliance Manager.
  • Organize, order, deliver and track seasonal PPE requirements for the weekend shifts.
  • Conduct regular onsite safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitoring site conditions for compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards in the workplace and assess the associated risks.
  • Communicate safety information to management and employees and collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns.
  • Lead investigations of all incidents that occur on the weekend shift to determine root causes and recommend corrective/preventative actions to address safety deficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Safety Team Members to monitor and ensure organizational activities are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, rules, and guidelines and industry best practices.

Skills/Eligibility:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be Bilingual (Spanish) with the ability to read, write, and translate.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to proactively identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Advanced computer skills in applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and other common PC based applications.
  • DOT Safety Compliance experience preferred but not required

Education and Experience 

  • Zero (0) – three (3) years safety compliance or due diligence experience with a strong attention to detail. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety is preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
