Supplemental Environmental Sustainability Coordinator - City of Redmond (Job)
Description:
The Supplemental Environmental Sustainability Coordinator will support implementation of the City’s Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP) under the supervision of the Sustainability Manager. Possible topics the position will support include stakeholder outreach, communications, electric vehicle planning, ESAP Refresh support and implementation, and data collection and analysis. Work may involve other tasks supporting city climate action planning and sustainability efforts.
- Act as the point of contact and/or liaison with responsibility for the ongoing assessment, design, development, implementation, promotion, maintenance, and evaluation of key sustainability initiatives.
- Assist and coordinate programs and projects to promote internal and external engagement in city climate and sustainability initiatives and programs.
- Serve as a technical resource and assist a variety of customers including residents, businesses, staff, city leadership and commissions/city council/boards with the details and information regardingenergy, resilience, and other sustainability initiatives.
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships and/or shape, frame, and promote City efforts.
- Provide contract oversight of selected vendors/contractors; ensure contractual requirements, or proof thereof, are met by program vendors or contractors prior to services being rendered.
- Partner with staff and selected contractors to produce brochures and marketing and educational materials, following marketing and communication plan guidelines when applicable.
- Monitor, track and maintain metrics and analytics relevant to program and/or project.
- May represent the city at offsite and regional events.
- May coordinate and direct the activities of staff, volunteers, and participants.
- May provide support to various committees or boards.
- Assist with special projects, programs and/or events in various capacities as needed.

Extensive knowledge of applicable program or event subject?
Program and/or event guidelines, restrictions, regulations and/or codes
Identifying, evaluating, and reporting measures and methods related to programming
Standard office practices, processes, procedures, and business etiquette as defined by the organization’s culture
Business correspondence standards including English, grammar, formatting, spelling and punctuation
Presentations and public speaking
Communicate and manage program or event information: details, statistics, etc.
Utilize computer programs and systems to create, track and communicate program/event details and aggregate data

Project expenditures and accurately assess fees and funding requirements

Education and Experience
Three years’ experience in program coordination and development,?
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or coursework preferred
