Safety Coordinator - Schmidt Construction (Job)
Description:
The Safety Coordinator will:
- Assist with the implementation of safety and environmental policies, regulations and programs
- Assist in safety training sessions and toolbox talks
- Maintain and organize safety documentation, reports and records
- Conduct site inspections with manager
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding safety concerns
- Conduct regulatory compliance audits including monitoring and testing
- Track and monitors risk assessments, observations and emergency drills
- Maintain and monitors compliance and training records
- Assist with incident investigation and remediation of environmental incidents including spills
- Support incident investigations by collecting data and preparing reports
- Order and maintains PPE
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills/Eligibility:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Safety related experience or internship
- Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, DOT and EPA standards
- Knowledge of any local or state required safety standards
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
- Ability to travel
- High School diploma required Degree preferred
