EHS Specialist - Evotec (Job)
Description:
The EHS Specialist supports the effective deployment of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and ensures alignment with site and corporate requirements. This role works closely with operations teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to help maintain compliance, strengthen safety culture, and deliver high-quality EHS programs. The Specialist plays a critical role in day-to-day implementation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and site objectives.

Provide guidance and awareness training to employees and contractors on EHS systems, procedures, and safe work practices.

Assist with hazard assessments, job hazard analyses, and reviews of new equipment and/or processes.

Coordinate event and incident investigations with operations, ensuring timely reporting, root cause identification, and follow-up on corrective actions.

Administer assigned EHS systems and maintain relevant standard operating procedures and intranet resources.

Participate in Safety Committees and contribute to site-level EHS initiatives.

Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across all organizational levels.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree with formal EHS training (e.g. Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification or working towards).

5+ years of EHS experience, ideally in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries.

Hands-on experience in lab safety, biosafety, emergency response, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials management.

Strong knowledge of EHS laws and regulations relevant to site operations.

Experience supporting incident investigations and interfacing with regulatory agencies.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally with enabling teams.
