The Recovery Café Network (RCN) trains, supports, and connects communities across the U.S. and beyond using the Recovery Café Model. Together, we are a growing movement of belonging and transformation. Through a cohort learning experience, each Member Café is provided mentorship, materials, expertise, and facilitated learning opportunities to create a Recovery Café in their area. The Network is committed to helping Member Cafés be successful in starting their program, building recovery capital in their communities, and offering effective long-term recovery support for years to come.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Emerging Member Manager will plan and execute RCN’s strategies for helping Emerging Member organizations implement the Recovery Café model, in collaboration with the RCN team. This position is responsible for the training, support, and mentorship of RCN Emerging Member organizations (implementing organizations) and reports to the Associate Director of Training and Learning. This position will be a resource in helping Emerging Member organizations understand the critical components of the Recovery Café model and will provide support as needed and is practical.
The person hired as the Emerging Member Manager must reside in the State of Washington and will typically work remotely, commuting to the Seattle office about once per month. This position is hourly, nonexempt and pays $28.85 - 31.25 per hour (equivalent to $60,000-$65,000 if annualized). The position will be represented by United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) 3000.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Emerging Member Learning Cohort Experience
- Reviews Emerging Member organizations applications to join learning cohort alongside RCN team to assess strengths and growth areas for each Emerging Member organization
 - Develop proficiency with RCN’s AGENCY database management system. Assist with onboarding and training of Emerging Member organizations in the use of the AGENCY database in daily operations and fulfillment of RCN data reporting requirements.
 - Coordinates the technical assistance (TA) for the RCN Emerging Member Cohort’s activities including each cohort’s launch (initial two day training), monthly video calls, site visits, and other support as necessary
 - Supports the implementation of training curriculum
 - Acts as the point of contact between RCN and Emerging Member organizations including emails and phone calls, using a nurturing collaborative approach
 - Supports RCN knowledge management and documentation efforts
 - Assists in the preparation, review, and dissemination of RCN reports, presentations, and other deliverables as applicable
 - Manage Cafe accounts including MOUs and contracts using Salesforce
 
Other Responsibilities
- Stays up to date on current Recovery Café Seattle operations including attending related meetings, and supporting RC Seattle operations as needed/available
 - Participates in RCN training events including RCN Rendezvous conference and all Network calls
 - Provides input at RCN grant making meetings as needed
 - Other duties as assigned
 
Skills/Eligibility:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant Work Experience: 3–5 years of experience in the social services sector or in a related field where transferrable skills were developed. Experience in facilitating adult training desired.
 - Knowledge Base: A foundational understanding of substance use disorder and other mental health challenges is required, along with a willingness to continue learning and growing in these areas; work experience in these areas a plus.
 - Technology: Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, Zoom, other digital communications and ability to quickly learn new software platforms. Comfort using email, phone, video conferencing, and other such methods to collaborate with others across geographies.
 - Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience at a Recovery Café or within a recovery-focused community is strongly preferred.
 - Professional and/or Lived Experience: Candidates with lived and/or professional experience working with social service providers are encouraged to apply.
 - Hours and Travel Requirements: Candidates must be able and willing to flex work hours to accommodate special events or occasional travel (approximately 5%) to represent the Recovery Café Network and visit member Cafés across North America.
 - Language: Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
