Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document site-specific Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures to control hazardous energy during maintenance or servicing of machinery.
  • Assist in pre-qualification and compliance of site contractors and vendors within the EHS Contractor Safety Database.
  • Recognize, evaluate, and provide guidance on potential safety or environmental hazards to minimize operational impact.
  • Provide project status updates and safety performance metrics to department management and stakeholders.
  • Actively engage in EHS responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
  • Ensure project compliance with local and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders to ensure alignment on safety objectives.

Skills/Eligibility:

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write health and safety reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in an environmental health and safety role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a theme park or amusement park environment is highly desired.

Qualification and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or environmental studies preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • A professional designation such as OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP is preferred but not required.

Should Have / Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in safety concepts, including Cal OSHA/Title 8 regulations, LOTO, fall protection, walking working surfaces, steel erection, power tool usage, and electrical safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and electronic database systems (SharePoint, GenSuite, Intelex, Avetta, BROWZ).
