Associate EHS Specialist - Tesla (Job)

What You’ll Do
- Actively work as a key Management of Change stakeholder on behalf of the Tesla EHS team to ensure that Production and Factory changes result in improved controls of risks to health, safety and the environment
- Partner with other EHS functions (Industrial Hygiene, Construction Safety, Hazardous Waste, Environmental, Ergonomics, etc.) to address needs unique to manufacturing operations
- Perform audits and inspections, document results, and verify action closure
- Analyze event trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness and environmental impact events
- Facilitate investigations from a Learning Teams approach, ensuring that preventative actions address system causes and not just individual behaviors
- Assist with field work EHS-impacts oversight, participating in pre-job planning and verification of controls/safeguards before starting work
- Ensure the EHS Management System elements are applied effectively throughout Manufacturing Operations
- Implement and support EHS KPI compliance throughout areas of ownership while creating and leading Safety Committee with Manufacturing Production teams
Skills/Eligibility:
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or equivalent experience
- 1 year of work experience as an environmental, health or safety professional, preferably in a manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar workplace
- Experience supporting EHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change to reduce risk and improve outcomes by working with cross functional teams
- Strong, hands-on experience with lockout/tagout procedures, chemical management safety, construction safety, electrical safety, confined space, NFPA and OSHA requirements, incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action management
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene, industrial ergonomics, machine safety, environmental compliance processes preferred
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, Power Point, Project, etc.)
