Description:

What you will do:

  • Ensure day‑to‑day compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA and EPA requirements at the Ypsilanti facility; provide remote EHS support to Londonderry.
  • Maintain and update safety programs including HazCom, LOTO, Emergency Action Plan, Fire Prevention, and PPE.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Manage RCRA hazardous waste labeling, storage, inspections, and documentation.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting: OSHA logs, EPCRA Tier II, RCRA Biennial Report.
  • Maintain SDS database and chemical hazard communication systems.
  • Conduct or coordinate EHS training for employees and new hires.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, compliance records, and safety logs.
  • Track and report EHS KPIs (injuries, near misses, waste, training performance).
  • Assist with emergency preparedness activities and maintain emergency response equipment.
  • Provide safety guidance to supervisors and employees; help reinforce a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with corporate EHS on global programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, waste providers, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Travel occasionally to Londonderry for audits, training, or investigations.

Skills/Eligibility:

This role may be a good fit if you have:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • OSHA & MIOSHA regulations
    • Hazard Communication (HCS/GHS)
    • RCRA hazardous waste
    • Basic environmental compliance (EPA)
  • Experience conducting inspections, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with operators and supervisors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPCRA Tier II and RCRA Biennial reporting.
  • OSHA 10‑hour or OSHA 30‑hour certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with ergonomics or industrial hygiene basics.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
