The Clinical Analyst I supports delivery of analytics and reporting for the Fred Hutch clinical enterprise and Fred Hutch/UW Medicine joint oncology program. This role partners with leaders, providers, and staff throughout Fred Hutch and UW Medicine to proactively address clinical, operational, strategic, and quality data needs. This position is responsible for creating reports, dashboards and analyses that enable data-driven decision making to improve patient care.

 

This is a full-time, salaried position. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Fred Hutch and joint oncology program to understand data needs, develop reporting and analytics, identify key insights, and present findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Facilitate discussions with key partners to develop requirements for data, reports, analyses, and data visualizations.
  • Perform data discovery on a variety of data sources (especially EMR data) to understand data, evaluate impacts of workflows, and ensure accurate use of data in analyses.
  • Use SQL and other data management tools to compile, integrate and structure data for efficient and meaningful analysis.
  • Develop data solutions, including: curated datasets, ad hoc and recurring reports, performance dashboards, descriptive and diagnostic analyses, analytics support for projects and summaries of key findings.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with data (data development, reporting, or analytics).
  • Highly motivated with a passion for data, analytics, data visualization and innovation.
  • Analytical mindset, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams to produce high-quality work products.
  • Ability to learn new tools and content (e.g. data sources) quickly and independently.
  • Efficient time management and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Epic’s reporting suite: Reporting Workbench, Crystal Reports, Slicer Dicer.
  • Familiarity with health care industry and terminology and/or experience working with health care data (e.g. scheduling, billing, clinical, research data).
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, BI principles, data visualization, design, and delivery.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology.
