Basic Function:
The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (50% FTE) Research Assistant. Under the supervision of Principal Investigator, Dr. Judith Tsui, the Research Assistant will support research that is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
General Information:
The Research Assistant will be an integral team member whose role encompasses contacting study participants, collecting data, scheduling research visits, administering surveys to participants, participating in community-based activities, and coordinating office activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provides support with recruitment, screening and enrollment study activities, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent of subjects and/or their families.
•Administers study questionnaires and assist with qualitative interviews after training/period of supervision by PI/RC
•Distribute participant remunerations.
•Performs review of medical records and data entry in REDCap.
•Comply with Good Clinical Practice standards and study protocol and standard operating procedures.

Hours per week (approx.): 20
Compensation: This is an Academic Student Employee (ASE) position governed by the UAW Contract and paid in accordance with the TA/RA Salary Schedule associated with the student’s academic department.
Skills/Eligibility:
Requirements:
•Must be a UW graduate student enrolled in 10 credits per quarter of employment.
•Excellent problem solving, communication skills, and the ability to work with a team.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
•Detail-oriented, proactive and flexible.
•Prior experience with substance using populations or other vulnerable populations, and in research methods is highly desirable but not required.

Tuition: This position is eligible for a tuition waiver if appointed as a 50% FTE Research Assistant.
