Description:

Based in Hillsboro, Oregon. Perform assessments of Health & Safety performance of projects, generate reports, including recommendations to project teams in areas requiring improvement, as well as review and assist with training of operations personnel. Lead teams and ensure an overall improving trend for key safety metrics, communicate gaps in project Health & Safety programs investigate personal injury and property damage accidents, and prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local regulations. 

Support and lead your team as they issue various entry permits (i.e. to confine spaces) as required and conduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas and noise tests to ensure safe working conditions. Additionally, utilize technical expertise to mentor other professionals, helping the team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.  

Skills/Eligibility:

Here’s what you’ll need

 

  • Associates degree in industrial hygiene, safety or related field and 2-5 years of progressive HSE experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions (may or may not be required depending on project)
  • Previous experience in a construction and general industry environment
  • Experience with managing and conducting safety training presentations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Knowledge of state/federal safety, health and environmental requirements and a clear understanding of industrial hygiene practices/procedures
  • Knowledge in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements 
  • Ability to manage competing demands; accept, and act upon criticism and constructive feedback; be extremely adaptable and flexible
  • Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Skilled/Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Outstanding customer service background

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

 

  • Master’s Degree in environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, or related field
  • CSP Preferred
  • Strong preference will be given to graduates of applicable ABET accredited programs.
  • Extensive experience working with Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) and HSE database/reporting/training systems
  • Knowledge of appropriate procedures for handling sensitive and confidential medical information
  • Current OHST (or higher) certification
  • Demonstrated experience conducting injury case management
  • Background in high-tech or oil/gas industry
