Description:

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Support the EHSS department to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations through proper documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Assist in preparing inspection reports and tracking corrective actions to closure.
  • Support the development and maintenance of inspection checklists and audit tools.
  • Coordinate logistics for safety training sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and attendance tracking.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of safety bulletins, posters, and other awareness materials.
  • Support onboarding safety orientation for new employees and contractors.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for reporting safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Assist in gathering initial incident data, witness statements, and photographic evidence.
  • Support the EHSS team in conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Monitor inventory levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety supplies.
  • Support the distribution and proper use of PPE across departments.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending appropriate PPE for specific tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions in EHSS databases or software systems.
  • Help compile data for monthly safety metrics, dashboards, and regulatory reporting.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and the “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Adhere to Environmental and Safety compliance regulations.
  • Follow Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration.

Skills/Eligibility:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Arts degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • An EHSS certificate(s) with relevant experience may be considered.
  • 0–1 years of experience in EHSS or a related safety/environmental role.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Proficient in arithmetic and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
