Description:

This role acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans, procedures, and providing EH&S Program Management, has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties, may perform tasks associated with Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance, and coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices. Other responsibilities include organizing and maintaining EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations and will manage relationships across other functions and departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and RTX requirements.

 

This position is working onsite at our Everette facility.

 

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Apply knowledge of the EH&S disciplines to provide advice, support, and technical guidance on moderate to complex issues.

  • Partner with appropriate 3rd parties to manage site Occupational Health program, Worker’s Compensation activities, the return-to-work program, and Industrial Hygiene monitoring.

  • Coordinate and conduct EH&S audits and inspections and assist line management in creating action plans to implement the necessary improvements.

  • Identify opportunities eliminate and control hazards to prevent injuries and illness and improve site safety culture. 

  • Develop and provide EH&S training as required by legislation or Collins/RTX requirements.

  • Support the EH&S Management Committee implementing the RTX EH&S Management System.

  • Maintain records, reports, statistics, and other data relevant to EH&S performance.

  • As needed, participate in regulatory inspections, and provide appropriate documents and records.

  • Explain and interpret EH&S regulations to achieve and maintain understanding.

  • Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools to improve EH&S performance.

  • Participate in or lead incident investigations.

  • Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills/Eligibility:

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

  • Working experience managing OSHA and EPA requirement

  • Previous experience in Health and Safety Training.

  • EH&S experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

  • Experience in report writing, creating and presenting presentations using Microsoft office tools (in particular: Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

  • Experience in leading meetings and presentation for EH&S and other teams.

 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Appropriate professional qualification ASP / CSP.

  • Working knowledge of General and Hazardous waste hierarchy

  • Project management experience

  • High level of initiative and committed to meeting goals
