Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Collect, analyze, and report required data and documentation for wastewater, stormwater, and air permit compliance programs across multiple states, counties, and regulatory agencies. 
  • Support the chemical management program through accurate documentation and designation of hazardous waste disposal events, storage, labeling, and reporting. 
  • Continuously audit and identify compliance gaps, improvement opportunities, and ineffective systems or processes across different operating groups, and work collaboratively with the EHS team to implement efficient and effective solutions.   
  • Maintain accurate and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, about environmental compliance.        
2. Training:
  • Contribute to the development of processes/programs to train and engage with personnel at individual operating locations to ensure consistent compliance procedures, communicate best practices, and meet internal sustainability and conservation goals. 
  • Commit to constant training and professional development and seek ways to expand knowledge, and technical skills to remain up to date on environmental regulations and responsibilities. 
3. Recordkeeping:
  • Maintain environmental compliance records as required by applicable law and/or Pacific’s internal Records Retention Policy. 
  • Compile compliance and conservation data to conduct analyses for identifying compliance gaps, detecting savings opportunities, and overall advancement of EHS goals and initiatives. 

Skills/Eligibility:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Physical Science, Environmental Science, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university. 
  • Three or more years of experience in environmental compliance with proven record of excellent performance. 
  • Two or more years of experience with hazardous waste regulations, such as the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazardous materials standards. 
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, with proven ability to write routine reports, technical summaries, and regulatory correspondences. 
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering, physical science, environmental science, or other related disciplines from an accredited college or university. 
  • Prior experience with environmental permitting and compliance in the seafood industry highly desired.
