Job Duties

- Provide trainings to community-based organizations who the unhoused communities in King, Snohomish, Jefferson & Clallam County.
- Establish new health insurance Navigators to serve the unhoused community.
- Work with the Access & Outreach Program Manager IV to, identify barriers and gap areas where the unhouse gathers and develop a strategic plan to educate them about the changes, exemptions and process to maintain their health insurance.
- Establish new outreach sites targeting unhoused community members
- Create educational materials
- Create an educational hub of information for organizations serving the unhoused community.
- Assist with the coordination of training and Navigator certification for agencies desiring to become a Health Insurance Navigator organization.
- Create new referral systems for Community Based Organizations serving the unhoused community who do not receive Navigator enrollment services.
- Enroll unhoused clients into health insurance and other benefit programs- including but not limited to: ORCA LIFT/Subsidized annual pass, Apple Health, Qualified Health Plans, Energy Assistance Programs, Basic Food (SNAP), King County Adult Dental Program (KCADP) and Breast and Cervical Health Program (BCHP).

Minium:
- Experience providing health insurance enrollment to the unhoused community
- Developed partnerships with organizations who are serving the unhoused community
- Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate they can build trust with the unhoused community
- Communication skills
- Able to travel to other Public Health locations
Desired:
- Health Insurance Navigator certified through the WA Health Benefit Exchange
- Experience in navigating complex service systems that require working with multiple agencies
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations, including veterans, immigrants, and people with disabilities
- Experience working with communities who have faced trauma, racism or abuse
- Past experience with developing partnerships or projects in the unhoused community
- Prior experience with group trainings or facilitation.
